Sligo Rovers vs Bohemians Preview

With only theoretical chances of making the podium, it looks like Sligo Rovers took the foot of gas and they are now simply hoping to finish the regular season in the first half. By comparison, Bohemians are struggling to avoid relegation and consolidate their advantage over the bottom pack. Both teams have split points in the most recent fixtures, but Sligo Rovers won the vast majority of games played at home.

Sligo Rovers vs Bohemians Tips

Over the last three weeks, Sligo Rovers had an insane schedule, with games against some of the best Irish teams. It all began with the home game against leading Dundalk, a match that they dominated but in the end they had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The next two matches were played on the road against Shamrock Rovers and Derry City, teams with excellent home record and the hosts prevailed on both occasions.

Returning home should lead to a change in strategy, as Sligo Rovers is expected to feature three strikers for the first time in over a month. North and Maguire are usually playing up front, but with Eamond Zayed being in superb form, it is very likely that the Libyan player will join them. He scored twice in five games played and he should be more than a match for Bohemians' subpar defenses.

The visitors are fully aware that they will start with the second chance tonight and the fact that they haven't won away from home in more than two months is worrisome. On the other hand, Bohemians scored two goals in each of the last two games, despite facing some of the best teams in the Premier League.

J Byrne scored twice in the last game, but one of the goals was in his own net, so he is very likely to stay on the bench tonight. Corcoran will be the only striker after opening the score against Bray Wanderers, although he is probably going to get stranded upfront.

Key Facts

  • Sligo Rovers has a phenomenal record against the Bohemians, winning the last nine games without allowing a goal
  • The Bohemians will be without Wearen who saw a red card in the last minute of overtime

Sligo Rovers vs Bohemians Prediction
