Andy Murray vs Kevin Anderson Betting Preview

Andy Murray will try to defend his Wimbledon title this season and become the first Scottish player to win back-to-back trophies at the grand slam tournament. So far everything is going his way, with Andy winning all the matches in straight sets and denying his opponents the chance to even push the game into a tiebreak. Kevin Anderson hopes to become the exception to the rule and previous results suggest that the South African is a very resilient player, capable of producing a major upset.

Andy Murray vs Kevin Anderson Betting Tips

Murray didn't have any serious opponent so far and bookmakers were overly confident in his ability to advance to the next round. The odds were every bit as low as they are today, with Andy meeting and even exceeding expectations. His matches didn't last more than two hours and in the second round, Rola couldn't manage to win a total of three games.

Bautista-Agut was supposed to be a much more difficult opponent, but he looks tired and didn't put up a convincing fight. The reigning champion won once again in three sets and he now hopes to achieve a similar result against Anderson, who got his work cut out for him at Wimbledon.

Kevin cruised to a convincing victory in the opening match, only to run into trouble in the next two games, but emerged victorious each time. Vasselin and Fognini were both up 2-1 after three sets, but the South African staged remarkable comebacks to win in five sets.

He is facing his most difficult opponent so far and it is only fair to say that the odds of replicating the previous scenarios are slim to none. Murray is unlikely to allow Anderson to come from behind after leading by two sets to one, so if Kevin is to stand a chance, he must definitely take the opening set.

Key Facts

  • The two players met twice so far and each time the winner emerged victorious in straight sets, with Murray prevailing at the Australian open.
  • Since the grass season began, both Andy and Kevin lost a single match two weeks ago at the London event

Andy Murray vs Kevin Anderson Betting Prediction

Andy Murray is justly credited with the first chance to prevail, but Anderson is more than capable of winning at least one set. Bookmakers offered terrific odds for this outcome and the fact that Kevin had three days to rest after the exhausting matches is great news for the South African. Fatigue can be ruled out and it is worth taking a leap of faith with Anderson this afternoon.
